Calm Australian stories, songs and books for children aged 2 to 6, with a focus on early learning and Reception. Bring Mr H and Gerry into your centre, classroom or library, then keep exploring together.
Years 1 and 2 are welcome too. Sessions can be adapted for your group, including a mixed Reception to Year 2 audience like the visit to St Joseph’s School, Kingswood.
Before, during and after a story

Watch and listen first, sing a familiar line, notice a character’s feelings or retell a moment through drawing and play. Children can take part in different ways, at their own pace.
Reception / Foundation English
Talk about characters and feelings, explore how words and pictures work together, and retell a familiar story through play, drawing or performance. These activities connect with AC9EFLE02, AC9EFLA07 and AC9EFLE05.
Music and participation
Listen for a repeated phrase, sing together, explore a steady beat and respond with movement. The songs provide a starting point for listening, making and responding in Foundation to Year 2 music.
